Downtown Rochester Light Show Gets Extension | Ice Sculpture Event Added!

Downtown Rochester is not ready to wrap up its holiday event offerings just yet! For those still in the holiday spirit, you’ll glad to know that Michigan’s biggest annual light show in Downtown Rochester is being extended until the end of January. The Big, Bright Light Show throughout Rochester's downtown will remain in place until Sunday, January 31. If you want to see the lights strung from buildings downtown, they’ll be glowing every night from 5:00 P.M. to midnight.

That’s not all that’s being offered in January to keep the holiday cheer going. In mid-January, the Rochester Downtown Development Authority is hosting an ice sculpture event called Snowglow, which will feature ice sculptures lining the streets and live ice carving demonstrations. Some of the sculptures you’ll come across this year include Buddy The Elf from the movie "Elf," Frosty the Snowman and the Christmas vacation station wagon from "National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation."

Snowglow in Downtown Rochester will take place from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Friday, January 15, and from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 16. During the festivities on January 16, from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M., an ice carving competition will take place on West Fourth Street.
